400 HP Form Wound AC Motor – WL12BB040
For drilling contractors and OEMs that prefer their top drive motors with form wound technology traditionally used in mud pump and draw works motors, the Ward Leonard WL12BB040 is the new standard for performance, reliability and versatility.
Built to last in extreme environments, and used in TDS-11 and other similar top drives, the
400 HP
 WL12BB040 also utilizes proprietary technologies that enable it to increase itspower density by up to 50% — achieving up to 600 HP within the same standard frame size. These include:

 Ward Leonard WL381060 inverter-rated AC induction 600 HP motor is designed and manufactured specifically for use in oil patch applications – with an emphasis on top drives,rotary tables and draw works.
The form wound WL381060 delivers high torque at relatively low RPMs in a small package. It’s designed to withstand high shock and vibration conditions and to provide decades of continuous service. With Certified Class H insulation and a maximum temperature rise of 115ºC, it’s suited for any climate and hostile operating environment.

Oriented for vertical or horizontal use, Ward Leonard’s 1,150 AC motors are available in form wound or random wound designs. Each motor is designed to withstand high shock and vibration conditions and to provide decades of continuous service. All are certified with Class H insulation and a maximum temperature rise of 105ºC so they are ideally suited for any climate and hostile operating environment.

Engineered to power mud pumps and draw works at rig sites that need to drill deeper and make longer horizontal runs, the form wound WL29BC200 delivers an impressive 33% more power density than similarly sized motors, is 14% smaller than traditional 2000 HP motors, and 10% lighter.
